Hmmm. What to do, what to do?
~I've spent a lot of time pondering what to do with this space. While I'm probably too busy and/or too lazy to do a very good job keeping things up to date, I might as well give it a try. Though this website has been up for months, I'm starting this space on March 2, 2009.

03.02.2009 - The Big Past Year
Today is Monday, and last Friday was Caleb's first birthday. On Saturday, we had his first birthday party. It's been the strangest mix of feelings and memories to try to imagine Carrie and myself this time last year. We were still at the Civic Hospital, Carrie was recouperating from giving birth, and I was shuffling back and forth from hospital to house trying to feed the dog and get the house ready for the new baby. On one hand, that memory and life without Caleb seems like such a distant memory, and yet as I watch my 1 year old son babble, walk, and wrestle with me in the floor, my mind reels at just how fast time passes. It's been mere breaths between when the quiet, swaddled bundle slept in my lap on his first night out of the womb and now when with a quick cuddle and a goodnight kiss, my big boy puts himself to sleep in his own bed.
