One Year Down...

CALEB'S BIRTHDAY PARTY: The theme - Spaghetti Supper. We had a great time! At this age, the party was more for us adults than Caleb, but he had a good time still. He got nice and dirty with his spaghetti and scarfed down his cupcake. About 30 minutes later, he was running and wrestling with his stuffed animals. I think he was on a sugar-high!! We loved celebrating with all his (and our) friends.

Caleb is turning into a little soccer player! One day he kicked the ball and we thought it was accidental. Then, he kept kicking it, and we were so impressed.

Jason built a fort in the living room after dinner one night - an expression of his creativity and adventure-some spirit. Caleb loved it!! His hair started getting really static-y and it was cool to see him bending over to walk under the blanket. This was such a precious moment!

We took this picture over breakfast for my grandmother. It's such a cute family photo!

This time of year is maple season, and we visited a syrup farm with our friends. You can see the giant silver tub full of sap, and the wood oven that keeps the sap boiling. When it's just the right thickness, they open the faucet and fill up a bucket, then filter it of impurities. The silver bucket attached to the tree is the traditional way of collecting the sap, but the more modern (and efficient) harvesting method is through vacuum-pumped lines that run from tree to tree. Caleb loved having the time outside, and LOVED the maple taffey that we bought at the end of our walk!
