Emilie and Jonathan came over again for our annual Christmas photo shoot. We tried decorating the tree together and then posed for our pictures in front of it. Caleb and their son Phillipe had fun playing together. You can see that they made "music" together (banged spoons and spatulas on a pan). Phillipe decorated himself with ornaments and found a very fitting head-dress for Caleb. And later in the evening, they hung out in front of the laptop/webcam together. What a day!!

The next night was Celebration's! Christmas Coffee House. A friend of ours brought her family and Caleb LOVED playing with their little girl. He thought she was so interesting - which is why he's climbing on her! During the performances, Caleb sat in the floor with his toys and his friend, and I was able to eat my food and enjoy the show. To our amazement, Caleb clapped at the end of each act. We've practiced clapping together, but never specifically as applause. When the rest of the audience began clapping, Caleb looked at me and began putting his hands together (even if they were holding toys)!! Jason and I looked at eachother with wide eyes - we loved it!

These pictures are designed to showcase Caleb's preferred mode of crawling: we call it the "three-legger". You can see that one knee remains on the ground while he pushes off with the other foot. He's picking up confidence! Thses pictures also demonstrate the age-old mystery of the container being more interesting than the toy. Who knows!

With Caleb moving around more, eveyday household items are becoming toys. Like this basket, for example! You also might notice the vacuum cleaner hose in the background of the 2nd picture. He thought that was really interesting! The last picture gives you a good look at how well he's getting around.

Jason is so proud of our little man in this picture. With his collared shirt on, Caleb is even dressed for the part of "future golfer." In case you're wondering, this was not a set up! It was completely unplanned and candid.

Jason's family drove up to Ottawa to celebrate Christmas with us. The five photos don't do justice to our time together, but wanted to give you a quick peek at Caleb's first Christmas. More pictures, videos and stories are sure to follow!

I love these pictures! Both of my guys look so adorable! As you can see in the first picture, Caleb is quite the laugher. He loves to laugh and it's not very hard to get a hearty chuckle out of him. I like seeing him smile! That's why I included the last picture. It's just too cute! (Please take not of the cozy, plush towel that Caleb's wrapped in. That was a Christmas gift too, and it fits him SO MUCH better than our newborn hooded towels.)
